Rick Smith, BSME, P.E.

Voted best artist in his high school class, Rick exhibits the aesthetic and user needs sensitivities of an industrial designer, but he is best known for his analytical capabilities. His specialties include risk analysis, FDA compliance, systems architecture, complex surface modeling, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), dynamic simulation and analysis, mathematical modeling, multi-frequency fatigue analysis and direct linearization method (DLM) tolerance analysis. Over his 19 year career, Rick has been recognized with medical and sporting goods industry design awards and a prestigious Industrial Design Excellence Award. He’s also listed on 7 issued patents and 10 pending patents.

Jake Myre, BSME

Jake enjoys a well-deserved reputation for having a keen eye and creative mind, especially when it comes to driving unnecessary costs out of products and designs. His specialties include early stage cost analysis & estimation, design for manufacture / assembly, electro-mechanical architecture definition, intelligent CAD database structuring, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and structural optimization. To Jake’s credit are a health industry product of the year award, 2 issued patents and 3 pending patents. And with 13 years of experience, he’s just getting warmed up.

Kent Chase, MSME

A new product entrepreneur in his own right, Kent has first hand experience dealing with the realities of tech transfer and early-stage start up new product development. That’s on top of an advanced engineering degree and 21 years of seriously impressive experience. Kent’s specialties include technical research and investigation, patent interrogation, design optimization, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), vibrating systems, dynamic analysis and mathematical modeling. He has been recognized with medical and furniture industry design awards in addition to his name appearing on 10 issued patents and 15 pending patents.
