Project Description

In order to enable the full capability of their assay automation technology, our customer needed a custom cartridge handling unit that could interface with their own system control software, a 3rd party liquid handling robot and 3rd party syringe and wash pumps. In collaborating with our customer, we first developed and diagrammed the assay automation process flow to determine the operational and control requirements for the cartridge handling system. We then defined the electrical, mechanical and control software architectures followed by detailed design engineering, validation prototyping and finally delivery of multiple systems for delivery to their customers as part of alpha and beta generation product installations.
